Ghanaian bodybuilder Martinson Ampadu, renowned as the “Rock of Africa,” secured a gold medal in the men’s physique division at the inaugural World Amateur Bodybuilding Association (WABBA) Togo Bodybuilding Championship. The championship, which took place last Sunday, saw top bodybuilders from West African countries such as Ivory Coast, Benin, Nigeria, and others gather in Lome, Togo, to compete across various categories.
Ampadu’s performance in the men’s physique event displayed impressive agility and skill, earning him the title of champion in that category as determined by the judges. His overall performance positioned him as the runner-up in the entire competition, which featured more than 100 participants in men’s bodybuilding and physique across three weight classes: lightweights, middleweights, and heavyweights.
Reflecting on his victory at the WABBA Togo Championship, Ampadu expressed his joy and gratitude towards his supporters. He thanked his fans for their moral and financial backing, emphasizing his commitment to securing more medals for Ghana in future contests. Calebs also revealed Ampadu’s upcoming participation in a major bodybuilding competition in Europe and called for support from both individuals and corporate entities in Ghana.
