Midfielder Grace Asantewaa, who was previously associated with the Spanish team Real Betis Women, has recently joined FC Juárez Femenil, a club in the Mexico Women’s Premier League. Having spent the last two seasons with Real Betis, participating in nearly 50 matches, the Ghanaian player has now become a part of FC Juárez as a reinforcement for the Apertura 2023 Tournament.
The announcement of Grace Asantewaa’s signing was made by the Mexican Liga MX Femenil in a statement on Wednesday, acknowledging her previous contributions to her national team, Ghana, and her presence in the Spanish first division while playing for Real Betis.
In their statement, FC Juárez Femenil expressed their warm welcome to Grace Asantewaa and conveyed their confidence in the combination of her experience and their determination, believing that it will lead to the continuation of their team’s historic achievements.
It is noteworthy that Grace Asantewaa recently played a significant role in Ghana’s progress to the second round of the 2024 Olympic Games qualifiers, featuring in both matches against Guinea in Conakry and Accra as a member of the Black Queens.
